Although
The Fairy Godmother places a "spell" on players that
turns them into princesses, "interior decorator" would be a more
accurate job description. This software allows kids to design the rooms of
Cinderella's house, as well as the ballroom at the castle.
Children can then add Cinderella characters to their scenes.
Animated stickers bring the scenes to life in cute ways. And,
adding
more than one character to a room will cause them to engage in
short conversations.
The
graphics of this game are lush and fanciful. In fact, they are
sophisticated enough to appeal to adults as well. Children
can choose the design scheme with simple clicks of the mouse, and
stickers of things like sofas, beds, and chairs adjust
automatically to fit against the different walls of the
rooms. Children who
enjoy free-play software programs will love this one. However,
kids requiring "more" from their games will quickly be
left wanting. UPDATE 2004: This program
is now available in an economical bundle, along with 2 other
CD-ROMs: Princess Collection 2004
Pros:
- Kids play house with
beautiful decorations and designs, as well as familiar
characters from Disney's Cinderella
- Beautiful graphics
- Open-ended play.
|
Cons:
- For children who prefer
a story line or adventure in their software, this
program will quickly become tiresome.
