Top
Pick. Children
are engaged from the opening jingle “la-la-la-la Elmo’s
World” to the end of this delightful video. Elmo has two
hands, ears, and feet--so why not celebrate? Elmo's
World: Elmo Has Two! Hands, Ears & Feet explores everything we
can do with our hands, ears, and feet with an engaging
format that stars every child's favorite furry red
monster.
In
the “two hands” segment, children wash their hands, Elmo
uses his hands to get email, Baby Bear and Telly play
patty-cake, and a little boy demonstrates how he uses sign
language to communicate. The silly Mr. Noodle is asked to wash his hands,
and he comically washes his feet,
face, elbows before he gets it right. Elmo is “all ears” in the
“two ears” segment as the adorable little monster and his friends explore what
ears can do. An elephant performs the fun song, “Do Your
Ears Hang Low”, children are asked which objects (like a
violin or ear of corn) they can hear, and kids enjoy a visit
from “squeaky shoes”. The “two feet” chapter
celebrates what people (and animals) can do with their feet,
such as squishing around in the mud, hopping on one foot,
playing soccer, and dancing.
Appearances from Sesame Street
favorites, like Cookie Monster and Big Bird, as well as animated
vignettes add even more enjoyment to an already engaging
video. As
is always the case with Elmo’s World, basic concepts,
such as counting and color recognition, are seamlessly integrated
into the fun.
The
DVD edition includes a chaptering option so that adults can
skip to any of the three segments easily.
